ervice station forecourts are busy places with lots of cars, people, children... all moving in a fairly small confined area.
One of the tasks required by staff is to periodically check levels of fuel in the holding tanks - this task requires them to venture out onto the busy forecourt with traffic & vehicles, with drivers sometimes not aware that foot traffic is about...even though staff at the facilities wear brightly coloured safety vests and although the job of checking the fuel levels can be done safer during the day, often day time checks can be hard to achieve due to busy traffic, so there's a higher risk to the console operator when doing the checks at night.
If you own or work at a service station and you're reading this, you will know the checks come with an array of hazards: cars, people and fuel - all in the same area, which is sometimes not a good mix! So...we thought "what if we could come up with a trolley" to make the attendant's job safer and help reduce risks?!
It doesn't take long to jump on the internet and see the stories of attendants and the public being struck by cars in a forecourt area, they are busy places with lots of activity and it only takes a moment of distraction from the driver for things to go terribly wrong.
Servo Mate is our new Service Station Safety Trolley designed and made here in Australia, to make this activity safer and reduce the operator having to separately carry all the tools required to do the job when testing the fuel levels at the pump. Powder-coated a highly visible, bright YELLOW so you can see it, and comes with an extended pole for the fitting of a flashing strobe light to warn others your there, has an area on the front to carry the safety cones and a storage tray at the back for all the tools required, and to top it all off a large caution sign advising all around that work is in progress.
Here @ Custom Trolleys Australia, we have come up with a great solution dubbed the "Servo Mate Trolley" (CTSST)
The Trolley comes equipped with:
- A storage box for holding all the tools required
- A storage area on the front for safety cones to store
- Powder Coated in bright yellow with reflective tape around the top
- A large safety sign to advise everyone there's "work in progress" to keep the area clear - making the operators job much safer.
- Options available for a flashing e-flare light which sits on a retractable post, and can be extended high in the air to really let people know you are there
Please welcome to the trolley family, the Servo Mate - it's just clever thinking!
